June 2008 General Meeting and Picnic
TAMA held its general meeting and potluck picnic at George Bush Park last June 8, 2008. The meeting was called to order at 2:30 PM and was presided over by Bert Vicerra (TAMA President 2008-2009). He asked all officers and members to introduce themselves so as to be recognized by the new members who attended the meeting and picnic. Bert discussed the current state of the organization, its financial standing and the status of TAMA's scholarship program. He encouraged the officers and interested members to make their pledges for the scholarship program. A total of $3,000 was gathered from the pledges which will be sufficient to finance 5 scholars for this school year.
Norma Benzon (TAMA President 1987-1988) updated everyone about the status of the Steering Committees preparations for the MapuaWorld 2009 and acknowledged the efforts and hard work that the Website Committee has exerted in building the website. She reported that a lot of Mapua alumni from Philippines, Canada, Hawaii, California, Illinois and other parts of United States have already informed her of their plan to attend the MapuaWorld 2009.
